2 new prints by Marq Spusta

What Spusta is able to do his screenprints are nothing short of amazing. So much intricate details and so much vivid color. Most of his prints look like they were made with 20 different colors when there are usually only like 5. Very cool.

He has released 2 new prints today. “Qworman & Zoloota” is a 10″ x 10″ screen print, signed edition of 100 on sparkly olive/gold paper. Cost $25. “In a World of Pure Imagination” is 16″ x 21″ screen print. (5 color) Edition of 200. Created to celebrate Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory for Gallery1988′s Crazy 4 Cult 5 Art Show. 5 lucky customers will receive a Golden Edition print with their order. WOW! During my Weekend Features last week, I featured this artist in my “Last Call” section. This one. Since then, that piece has since sold out and I hope one of you who read this was able to snag one. Good thing is that Zach Johnsen has released 2 new prints in the same fashion. “Absolute Citrus” and “Purple Drink” are both 18″ x 24″ Giclees, each with an editon size of 50, and cost $65 individually, or $115 as a set. You’ve probably thought of it before. I know I have. To take your cool Instagram photos that you’re so proud of and to make them into screenprints and sell them! Well Ben LaFond has done just that. Awhile back he released his first set of Instagram prints through Burlesque, and now he is set to release his 2nd batch of prints. This set contains 9 prints, each measuring 4″ x 4″, has an edition size of 20, and cost $45 includes shipping in the US / $50 international. Ken Taylors signature line-work is all over these 2 new posters slated for release tomorrow. They are for The Bon Iver and The Decemberists concerts and are 18″ x 24″ and 12″ x 36″ respectively. The Bon Iver print has an edition size of 100 and cost $35 and The Decemberists print has an edition size of 70 and cost $30. The both go on sale Wednesday, August 31st @10am PST HERE.

The talented James Jean, known for his eerie dreamscapes of oil paintings, had a book signing this weekend at his Ex Libris Mini-Exhibition @ the LACMA for his book titled “Rebus”. This book features new works, oil paintings, illustration works, as well as never-before-published pages from sketchbooks. Specs: 256 4C pgs, 12.5 x 9.5 x 1.2 in. Media: Hardbound, Foil Gilded Edges.
