“Neve” by Malleus

For those that missed the 1st, 2nd, 3rd…chance at this elusive Malleus beauty will have possibly one last chance at getting this print for now.

“Neve” will be available through Caracol’s store website bundled with a previous 2009 Caracol poster and a 2CD combo. Looks like only 6 will be available for sale and will cost $285 CAD for the combo. On sale Thursday, December 1st at 5pm PST HERE.

***5 will be available that day for purchase, being sold one at a time with the second one being placed online the minute following purchase confirmation of the previous. The last 6th one will be sold at a later date with an increased price. Good Luck!

***UPDATE: All 5 sold out instantly. Last one is on sale for $600. Alternatively, the last copy that Malleus has for sale can be had HERE for 400 EURO ($594US).

The 2nd release of a 5-set print “Electric Mayhem” series is set for a release this week. “Zoot” is a cool 18″ x 24″ Screenprint, signed/numbered edition of 250, and cost $60.

First Look: “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Tom Whalen

Tom Whalen, working in conjuction with Dark Hall Mansion has revealed their 2nd installment of this Charlie Brown/Peanuts series just in time for the Holidays. This new print, much like his previous one, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”, manages to be classic Peanuts while being classic Whalen at the same time. A job well done!

This print is an 18″ x 24″ 10-color Screenprint, signed/numbered edition of 450, and cost $75. There will be a variant version with an edition of 100 ($125), and a metal version with an edition of 50 ($250). On sale details below:

It’s an Art World

The title of this post may seem a bit far-fetched, but a closer look at Chan Hwee Chong’s illustrations and that is exactly what you see. This Singaporean designer has recreated/reinterpreted classic masterpieces such as Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa”, and Vermeer’s “The Girl with a Pearl Earring” using one continuous circular line-stroke of varying degrees of thickness and line-spacing. He described it as an exercise of “precision and control”.

Chong is so meticulous with his pieces that each one usually takes months to complete due to the fact that if a mistake was made during the drawing, he would scrap the whole piece and start over! Using only a piece of paper and a Faber Castell Artist Pen, Chong’s art is proof that creation is a human element, regardless of what mediums or materials are available for use.
