“Back to the Future” by Phantom City Creative (Mondo release)

Great news from Mondo today in that they have acquired a license for Back to the Future! Their first poster is by Phantom City Creative and it’s a triptych of the entire trilogy. Each print is an 18″ x 24″ Screenprint, numbered edition of 420, and sold as a set for $88. 88 mph!!!!

There is also a variant poster that combines all three posters into one 16″ x 36″ Screenprint. Numbered edition of 115 and cost $120.
On sale Friday, March 2nd at a random time HERE.

So the 3rd movie out of 4 Oscar nominated movies that is going to get the Mondo treatment is “Bullhead” by Iron Jaiden. The first two mentioned last week is “Hugo” by Kevin Tong and “Rango” by Tom Whalen. The 4th and final movie will be unveiled later on this week.

Matt Owen’s “Reservoir Dogs Live Read” poster is now available for purchase. It was first made available at Jason Reitman’s LACMA Live Read event featuring an African-American cast reading Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.

“Hugo” & “Rango” from Mondo (Academy Awards Series)

Mondo announced that it will be releasing movie posters to coincide with this year’s Academy Awards. Four nominated films for 2011 will receive the Mondo treatment, two of which will be “Hugo” by Kevin Tong and “Rango” by Tom Whalen. “Hugo” is a 24″ x 36″ Screenprint and will have a regular (Ed of 295, $45) and a variant (Ed of 100, $65). “Rango” is an 18″ x 24″ Screenrprint, has an edition of 270, and cost $40.

The other 2 posters will be revealed later on next week and all four posters will go on sale Sunday, February 26th during the Academy Awards HERE.

Fix the Chapel posters

FixTheChapel.com is the grassroots effort of Night of the Living Dead fans to restore and preserve the chapel in Evans City Cemetery, a cinematic landmark from the George A. Romero classic horror film originally released in 1968. Fundraising activities include donations and merchandise sales through this web site and online auctions, as well as raising awareness at horror conventions and via social networks such as Facebook and YouTube. A goal of $50,000 is being sought.

There are currently 11×17 posters available through the Fix the Chapel website donated to the cause by artists, Terry Callen of Screaming Brain Studios and Matt ‘Mirthquake’ Orsman. There are many other items such as t-shirts, hoodies, and even pieces of the chapel itself available throughout the site as well.

Cult Cinema Sunday featuring “Bladerunner”

On the 3rd Sunday of every month at Fruit in Hull UK, Cult Cinema Sunday holds a film night featuring cinematic treats from the vaults of film history. Each screening is accompanied by a poster designed with local artists and designers first made available on movie night, then in an online sale.

This Sunday’s (Feb. 19th) movie screening is “Bladerunner” and has 2 posters created by Domanic Li and James Fenwick. Each are A3 16.5″ x 11.7″ digital print on 300gm heavy weight paper, signed/numbered editions of 50, and cost £6 ($10US). They will be available on the night of the screening, and online on Monday, February 20th at 1am PST HERE.
