Ana Bagayan “There Is Time To Kill Today” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Gallery Openings/Exhibitions

bagayan there is time to kill today

Thinkspace Gallery is pleased to present There Is Kill To Kill Today, an exhibition by Ana Bagayan. It will showcase new paintings, drawings and the debut of a new series of charcoal works on canvas from artist Ana Bagayan.

“Although theres no unifying theme to this show, the inspiration for the work comes from the metaphysical- ghosts, spirits, intergalactic space creatures, anything that hints at the idea that we are just a small part of the unimaginably vast universe. Some of the works are based on hypnosis sessions of people who believed they had been abducted by aliens. I’ve created human/alien hybrid creatures based on the experiences these people described. All of the works, I feel incorporate the inherent beauty of interpreting both the known and unknown.” -Ana Bagayan

The reception for There Is Kill To Kill Today is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 5 to 8pm. The exhibition will be on view until February 25th, 2012.

***Two new prints will be released on the opening day of the exhibition.

Weekend Features: “Blue Marble 2012” by NASA

It’s An Art World

Last week, NASA released an image of our mother earth titled “Blue Marble 2012″. It is dubbed ‘the most amazing high definition image of Earth”. It was taken by the Suomi NPP satellite, which collected data from multiple passes of the Earth on January 4th, 2012.

The longer I stare deep into this incredibly beautiful picture, the more I feel like I am going to fall into it! (Click on image to view it full size)
