Weekend Features: Prints by Evan B. Harris
Last Call: Amazing Works Still Available
Looking at Evan B. Harris’ art, images abound of old folklore containing mermaids, white whales, sea creatures, carnivals of yesteryear, and old fisherman’s tales. Everything has a rustic tinge to it giving his work a nostalgic ‘lost-era’ look to them. Great stuff.
“…the appearance that this wasn’t made in the 21st century, but perhaps in the 20th. So, behind every scratch and claw mark is a story to tell.” -Evan B. Harris

Going down? – Bathroom built on top of 15-story Elevator Shaft
It’s An Art World
The average person spends about 3 years of their lifetime sitting on the toilet so why not make it more exciting? In Guadalajara México, architects Hernandez Silva Arquitectos designed a bathroom in a Guadalajaran penthouse to be situated on top of an old abandoned 15-story Elevator Shaft! Crazy! One step in there and you’ll be glad that they provide more than one toilet paper roll 🙂 More about this penthouse HERE.

“This fine looking print was part of Simkins exhibition ‘Cloud Theory‘ that opened last week at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Clean off-white mat and the flowing cut patterns of the frame go well with this instant classic Simkins piece.”

“I found a wood frame molding with “Enterprise red” on the inside track and it was simple from that point on. I didn’t want to distract too much from Tyler Stout’s really great poster, so I went with the main matting black along with a thin red mat to both separate the black mat from the black in the poster and to give the framing a bit more presence. As an aside, this poster has been a huge hit in my office. People have been coming by to check it out. Most of my office mates found the WOK movie the best in the series, and they all thought the artist [Stout] did a fantastic job. -Mark Z.”

“The color of the wall that you plan on hanging your framed art should always be a factor in frame/mat choice. In these Banksy frame ups provided by Kenny, everything is white all around to match his white walls. Very clean and classic looking. Excellent presentation here.”

“Here are a pair of really nice frame ups that Seth S. sent to me. It’s cool to see oval mats cut so well and the frame in this canvas print Wiesenfeld piece looks like it was taken from the tree in the image.”

“Jeff Magner of MagnerVision, magnervision.com provided these excellent frame ups. Really thinking “Out-of-the-box” work here. Love it!”
I am glad for the opportunity to frame numerous art pieces by Tim Lee. Tim’s current subject matter usually encompasses a musical motif with a cast of creepy characters. I have framed 4 of the popular limited edition print; “Blue Night”. Each frame is different. -Jeff Magner

“And finally to close out this weeks Framed Art Phenomena is excellent work done by the people over at Brampton Picture Framing in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, UK. Cleanly floated white frame for this piece ready for gallery display. I wouldn’t have it any other way. :)”
