“I chose to create this print because of my fascination with Blue Fin Tuna and my dismay about their decline due to overfishing. I first saw them up close at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California and became immediately captivated by these amazing creatures. Their speed, intelligence, endurance and sleek design only underscore the importance of a long evolution that can’t end at the hands of the human race. I consider them as important as the shark when it comes to keeping the balance of the ocean in check. The diptych adds to emphasize a separation—a broken cog of sorts—of the evolutionary chain of life. I hope this print will help bring awareness to their plight and of the importance of saving the entire tuna species’ before they’re gone for good.” – Dave Kinsey
