It is a 76 x 56cm Screenprint with painted colour splash in acrylic and additional spraypaint styles and splashes. Bottleneck Gallery is set to open their latest exhibition this week titled, The Gang Is All Here. It is an exhibit dedicated to the art industry’s legendary cliques, groups, buds, and gangs. Each artist will present work based on their favorite classic batch of friends, pulling from songs, films, and books. Featured at this show will be “Springfield” by Kyle McCoy which is a giant 40 square foot piece consisting of 140,000 beads to make up 166 characters and 54 locations of The Simpsons. Great stuff! Opening this Friday, November 16th from 7pm to 10pm.

It’s An Art World

Japanese artist Macaon takes the ubiquitous discarded aluminum can and turns it into art. It’s really crafty how he uses the actual labels of the cans as the color for each corresponding character he creates. Definitely check out his website for much more canned creations. This guy must drink alot. Who woulda thought that the empty beer can had other uses other than smashing into your drunken forehead? 😉
