New prints from Galerie F

Galerie F will have new prints available soon. Justin Van Genderen of 2046 Design has begun a new series of designs to be screenprinted. Each print from ‘Force and Nature’ serves as an educational art form with a visual and text description of important theories and observations. They start the series with two complex sides to the same coin – relativity – a fundamental principle in the study of physics.

Cristiano Suarez presents his first film poster to honor one of his most favorite series, Sin City. Making its theatrical debut on Friday August 22nd, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been transformed into a film noir art print. Suarez’s eye for color and affinity for the female form makes this poster a must-have for fans of his work, of Miller’s film series, or any comic enthusiast.

Justin Van Genderen will have 3 new prints available soon via Galerie F. They were commissioned to be brought down to Flatstock SXSW in Austin, TX. Each is considered a new addition to his ongoing ‘Location, Location, Location’ series that was premiered at GF in December 2013. “Anton” and “Llewlyn” are a paired set referencing the film No Country for Old Men. Galerie F is excited to present their first solo exhibition for Chicago designer Justin VanGenderen. VanGendern’s subtle detailing and eye for textures combine to create unique refreshing images for long idealized subjects. Location, Location, Location is a collection of brand new prints showcasing film location through the art of the travel poster. Advertising and film study meet to create 13 striking images.

Artist reception on Friday, December 13th from 6pm to 10pm. Sponsored by Revolution Brewing.

DOOM Video Game Release & VanGenderen Opening Reception

On December 10th, 1993 the world was introduced to the nightmare inducing first person shooter DOOM. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of DOOM they invited printmaker and brutal illustrator Shawn K Knight and graphic designer Matthew Johnson to participate in the Galerie F Exclusive Series. Then on Friday, Galerie F will be hosting an opening reception for Beyond the Infinite, a space exploration group art exhibition curated by Adam Hanson. It is a screen print focused show that explores the genre of Science Fiction featuring new work from some of the best print makers from around the country. The show dives deep into the world of astronauts, aliens, androids, and alternate realities to create work that not only celebrates the Science Fiction genre but also provides a new perspective on it as well.

The opening reception will be Friday June 21st from 6-10pm at Galerie F located in Logan Square. There will be beer as well as several of the artists in attendance.
