Not ripping on anyone…but didn’t Olly Moss already do pretty much exactly this same thing?
There’s a pretty active discussion on this over on FB and Expressobeans.
I think the main point is that Monsell has been doing silhouettes well before the Moss show, and actually the whole concept of Silhouettes is no where a ‘new’ thing but done well into the history of modern times.
The argument of Pop culture Silhouettes can be made, but I think it’s irrelevant. Both Moss and Monsell approached these with different techniques (Laser vs handcut). Regardless, they are silhouettes, it’s been done before by many many ppl, I enjoy it for what it is.
