Tomorrow we are excited to offer the next two installments in Greg Ruth’s brilliant exploration of David Lynch’s TWIN PEAKS. Originally conceived as part of Greg’s “52 Weeks Project” in which he illustrates a new piece of art every week for a year, The White Lodge was a series inspired by the television series that spanned three years and yielded dozens of absolutely gorgeous portraits and artwork centered around the world and characters of TWIN PEAKS. We are proud to have partnered up with Greg and Showtime to offer the monumental collection of art as a series of 12 giclee print sets each containing 5 prints per series.

“To celebrate World Oceans Day, June 8, I am very excited to release “Legacy” as a print edition, in collaboration with PangeaSeed Foundation, to support their global ARTivism efforts helping to inspire positive action for our oceans.

In 2018 I had the chance to visit the Hawai’i archipelago for the first time and I was very lucky to feel incredible sensations being very close to a humpback whale and her calf off the coast of the Big Island. In late 2018, I had my biggest solo exhibition to date in the USA and I didn’t hesitate to incorporate the theme of marine wildlife into the main painting. The painting pays tribute to the title of the show, “Legacy” so working on this piece has been an emotional experience for me personally.

One year later, my friends at PangeaSeed Foundation, invited me to back to the islands, this time to Maui to paint for a purpose as part of their Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans program. Maui is one of the best places in the world to experience humpback whales in the wild. We were there during the peak of breeding season which was the perfect opportunity to translate the original painting into a large-scale public mural.

“Legacy” represents the eternal migration of a humpback mum and her calf traveling to safer waters and places of refuge. These magnificent mammals camouflage themselves between ecosystems they migrate through while trying to escape possible extinction at the hands of man.” – Dulk

Spoke Art is pleased to present P.T.V. – a group exhibition featuring members of the Bay Area graffiti crew Punks Thugs and Vandals. Including a diverse array of artistic styles, inspirations and backgrounds, the crew’s distinctive characters are familiar to Oakland and San Francisco locals, international travelers and beyond.

Starting in 2007, following a San Francisco Department of Public works press conference proclaiming “It is currently up to the Punks, Thugs and Vandals what artwork goes up in the city,” a group of friends began writing the moniker as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the city’s stance on street art. Known for their characters and collaborative pieces, the members of P.T.V. blend styles and genres to find commonality between “punk, hiphop, ska, reggae and taking that same recipe into graffiti, politics and fine art.”

PTV characters can be spotted close to home in Oakland and across the US and internationally in South America, South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Please join us Friday, June 7th from 6 – 10pm for the opening reception of P.T.V. We will also be releasing a new limited edition screen print and enamel pin by GATS available first for attendees of the opening.
