“I love working on titles that had an impact on me back when I was growing up. First Blood (and Rambo character in general) are definitely among them. I still remember how this great piece of cinema moved me back when I saw it for the first time.
No doubt it was and remains one of the saddest movies from the 80’s. Both me and GMA guys wanted to capture some of that sadness on this image while at the same time keeping it very iconic… almost monumental.
Personally I’m very happy with the outcome. Consider this my final take on one of my biggest “old time heroes”: Sylvester Stallone. Hope I gave you justice John J…” – Gabz

“When approached by Odd City for this print I knew I wanted something horizontal this time around. I decided a jet fighter battle recollecting the Cold War era should really work well with this title. I also wanted to step back from the complex multi-character based compositions with this one, and to design the print in a way so it could be viewed upside down as well.” – Gabz
“The Terminator” by Gabz

“The Terminator” and “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” are both one of those movies I always wanted to work on, so when Mike Gregory from Grey Matter Art approached me with the offer, it was like a dream come true. I wanted something with strong imagery, action packed, and with a glimpse of the future as seen in both movies.
While I’m hoping the artworks will speak for themselves, two things worth pointing out is that the general concept was inspired by an interview with James Cameron I read a while back, in which he stated that he had a dream about a cyborg/robot coming out of the flames, and as we all know the rest is pretty much a cinema history. The other thing I wanted, was to design both posters to form a diptych.” – Gabz

“When Mike Gregory, co-founder of Grey Matter Art offered me an opportunity to work on John Carpenter’s “Escape from New York” I didn’t hesitate much. My main intention was to deliver something a little bit different from what I’ve been known for until now… something less character based more focused on the movie’s atmosphere, and true to the original poster artwork.
Being a fan of the original and iconic poster, my print also has post-apocalyptic streets of New York City, gang members, and the majestic Statue of Liberty (or what was left from it) dominating the skyline. Except Snake Plissken, in my version is all by himself: tired, hurt, on the run and fighting against all odds. Perceptive viewers should also notice Snake’s plane crossing the red walls of the New York City prison and the bottom grid which is intended to be a tribute to visual effects used in the movie”. – Gabz

“Coming up with a concept for a movie like True Romance, that I have been a huge fan of for years and is among my favourite Tony Scott films of all time, wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be when I first got the proposal. There are so many brilliant quotes, memorable scenes and a mind-blowing soundtrack on top of it all.
The Hawaiian shirted Cupid I went with, symbolizing the bizarre romance between Alabama and Clarence, came to me as a revelation and I felt I had a winner. I desperately wanted to not only catch the mood of the film, but also include as many characters as I could possibly fit. I love every single performance from the movie and I felt like everyone deserved a tribute.” – Grzegorz “GABZ” Domaradzki
