Brett Amory and Adam Caldwell: “Dirty Laundry” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Gallery Openings/Exhibitions

thinkspace dirty laundry
Thinkspace is pleased to present Dirty Laundry, an exhibition of new work by painters Brett Amory and Adam Caldwell. Amory and Caldwell each mobilize their unique representational strategies to invoke the modern day disconnect between time and space, self and other, and present and past. Amory’s atmospheric preoccupation with memory, the moment, and nostalgia, is dynamically in contrast to Caldwell’s abrupt composites and recombinations of imagery, from sources spanning mass media to antiquity. Both artists approach their medium as a means of problematizing temporal identity, and the social experience, by exposing the nitty gritty polarities and paradigm shifts of an increasingly fractured reality of the self. Opening Saturday, August 4 at 5:00pm – 9:00pm

PangeaSeed Presents: “The Great West Coast Migration” – An Art Benefit for Sharks and Oceans

Gallery Openings/Exhibitions

In the spirit of ocean conservation the international non-profit organization, PangeaSeed, is ramping up its 2012 summer activities in the United States with a west coast art exhibition tour. Tailored to address one the biggest threats facing the health of world’s oceans today, the rapid mass depletion of sharks, PangeaSeed aims to expand the public’s knowledge of the inhumane practice of shark finning and its deep impact on the health of our oceans.

PangeaSeed, with an inclusive approach to spreading its message by engaging audiences through the mediums of art, photography, film, music and discussion, will embark on a series of art exhibitions held at a variety of forward-looking, socially-conscious galleries located along the United States’ west coast. The pioneering tour kicks off in mid-July in Seattle, Washington, and will then continue onto Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Costa Mesa, California, and culminate in San Diego, California, in mid-August.

See the tour poster above to see if they will swing by your city and drop by to support this great cause and check out some great art! Right now they have some prints available from artists such as Dave Kinsey, Max Dalton, Danny Miller and more! On sale now HERE.
