Mondo kicks off the official opening day of the San Diego Comic Con 2012 with the great “Princess Mononoke” by Olly Moss. It is a 20″ x 36″ Screenprint available in a regular and variant editions. As an SDCC exclusive, it sold out with the quickness. Crowds at the Mondo Booth (#437) were pretty dense today as Mondo continues to blaze new trails and push new boundaries in the movie poster world.

Mondo will be debuting “The Dark Knight Rises” by Jock tomorrow (7/12) at the San Diego Comic Con. It is a 24″ x 36″ Screenprint, limited edition of 375, and cost $45. Mondo is at Booth #437 so keep an eye on their Twitter-feed for the on-sale announcement.

In addition, there will be a variant with an edition of 350, that features the villains from the whole trilogy. That will NOT be for sale – Warner Bros will be handing that out for fan appreciation. ‘Game of Thrones’ posters from Mondo (SDCC Exclusive)

Mondo today revealed they will be will releasing a series of Game of Thrones posters from Martin Ansin, Vania Zouravliov and Daniel Danger at the San Diego Comic Con. They will be made available gradually throughout the week so just be there for the entire event okay? 🙂 Mondo will be at Booth #437.

***UPDATE: Zouravliov poster will be released on Thursday, 7/12 : Danger on Friday, 7/13 : Ansin on Saturday, 7/14

“The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” by Aaron Horkey

Those of you that attended Mondo Mystery Movie X in Austin, TX tonight were in for a real treat when Mondo announced that they acquired a license for The Lord of the Rings. To celebrate, their poster for tonight is “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” by Aaron Horkey and its marvelous. It is a 19.25″ x 39″ Screenprint with a regular (Ed of 260) and a variant (Ed of 125). No doubt speculation runs rampant as to what other artists will be involved in future posters in this fantasy classic series.

Mondo will have remaining copies of “The Iron Giant” & “King Kong” by Laurent Durieux available tomorrow. There will also be an “The Iron Giant” jointed figure by Kevin Tong. Tim Doyle created a movie poster for the sci-fi classic, “The 5th Element” for a screening at the Spectacle Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn organized by the up-and-coming Bottleneck Gallery. Tickets for the screening taking place on 7/9 are onsale now HERE, and any remaining posters will be available online on Tuesday, July 10th HERE.

This piece is for San Diego Comic-Con ATTENDEE pre-order for pickup only beginning Monday June 25th and ending Wednesday July 4th. Orders must be picked up at our booth (#5629) at the San Diego Comic-Con. Orders not picked up will be refunded and will not be shipped. Please bring your receipt to the booth when picking up. Mondo will release the remaining prints of the regular edition of “The Thing” by Drew Struzan. It was first seen at Summer of ’82 last weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse. It is a 26″ x 38″ Screenprint, signed/numbered edition of 435, and cost $250.

Turrel David, the CEO and Creative Director at DzXtinKt Originals, a small start up company in Baltimore have started up a Kickstarter project to fund two movie posters: “I Drive” by Grzegorz Domaradzki & “Insidious” by Jordan Debney. Each poster is a 24″ x 36″ Screenprint and pledges of $60 will get a poster of your choice and pledges of $180 will get you the full set of posters.
