This Black Friday Mondo will have their latest Mondo Poster Book Volume IV for sale. They are composed of scratch and dent, otherwise unsellable posters that they hand assemble and bind in leather. Today, Mondo unveiled some of their posters that will be featured at the upcoming SDCC. The biggest change this time around is that some of their posters will be pre-sold online before the convention. This is to cut down heavy traffic and overall craziness that accompanied the Mondo booth last year. For the other dozen or so Mondo releases, instead of randomly tweeting the sale when it comes available and causing a mad stampede, they will have a daily schedule for you guys to check out showing the times of releases. I commend Mondo for the steps they have taken this year and really look forward to another great year at SDCC. Who’s going? 🙂

Game of Thrones fans, mark your calendars because Mondo will be bringing it with a Game of Thrones inspired art exhibition featuring a stellar line-up of artists. I mean, just LOOK at the line-up! Mondo artists Craig Drake, Daniel Danger, Jason Edmonton, Horkey, Jock, Phantom City Creative, JC Richard and Ken Taylor and others have created “Game of Thrones” original fine art which will be on display, along with the first two of eight limited edition posters, at the Mondo Gallery at 4115 Guadalupe Street in Austin from March 8 through the 14th. Two more posters will be released digitally each week leading up to the March 31st “Game of Thrones” season three premiere.
“After the success of our San Diego Comic-Con initiative with HBO in 2012, we thought this was a perfect fit. We hope the fans feel our work has done justice to the show,” said Mondo CEO Justin Ishmael. The gallery event will also serve as the launching point for another “Game of Thrones”-inspired work — Ommegang’s Iron Throne beer, the first in a collection inspired by the series. The beer will be available in stores and on draft in mid to late March, for anyone really dedicated to hosting a themed party.
With The Oscars taking place this weekend on Sunday, Mondo will be commemorating this event with a poster series of many of the nominated movies in various categories. Today, 3 posters were unveiled by 3 well known artists in an extensively talented Mondo family of artists. See pics below for details.
These posters (and many more to come) will be released throughout the show this Sunday, so tune into The Oscars and have your computer online next you for a glamorous F5-fest! Check here repeatedly on Sunday, February 24th during the live televised broadcast of The Oscars HERE.

From Justin at Mondo:
If you attended the gallery show a few weeks ago, you might’ve seen or even bought our new book. We are all very excited with how they came out. I briefly talk about this in the intro of the book, but I was at a friend’s house earlier this year and noticed a book he had by Jay Ryan. It was full of posters…. actual pieces of the screenprinted posters. I thought about the giant stack of returned posters we’ve gotten over the years and figured this would be a great way to get those out as we were moving to the new space and didn’t want to transport them. So, we began to go through the giant stack and pick out which ones we wanted in and in what order they should go. We found a local binder and had him cut them down to size and over several weeks we hand put these books together. It was an intricate process and below you can see some of the pics of the book getting put together.
I went to WonderCon in Anaheim, CA a few weeks ago and got some sketches done in the book and felt like sharing them. Lots of folks that got these at the gallery show got the artists in attendance to draw in theirs as well, so this works as a great sketchbook!
These books are limited to just 105 copies made TOTAL and are bound in 100% leather. They will be put up for sale on the site tomorrow and will cost $200. Follow us on Twitter for the on sale announcement.
On sale Tuesday, March 27th at a random time HERE.
