Well it’s San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) week and as you know, it will be a huge arts and entertainment explosion. This page will serve as a ‘Cheat Sheet’ for some highlights of great artists and prints to check out. This page will be hopefully be updated as the week progresses as I will also be attending SDCC! San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) prints
So if you plan on being at the SDCC this week, I’m sure that many of you will be interested in seeing what prints will be available there. If you’ve been to SDCC, you’ll know that it’s a virtual saturation of the senses. So many things to see, so many lines to wait in, and of course PRINTS! This post is a bit of a summary in ‘quick-view’ format of some highlights that I know will be at the SDCC and I recommend you check out. I’ll try and update it as things develop, but I’ll be lost in the madness of SDCC this week as well. Well, here it goes:
Mondo is at booth #936:
For Wednesday 7/17 “Preview Night” @ Mondo: All Pacific Rim prints
For Thursday 7/18 @ Mondo: Ken Taylor “Aliens” posters at 9am and Ash Thorp “Predator” posters at 5pm. The regular posters are $50; variants are $75.
Poster for 2pm is “King Kong” by William Stout
For Friday 7/19 @ Mondo:
Available when doors open at 9am: THE TERMINATOR by Kilian Eng (Edition of 325; $50)
Available starting at 2:00PM: GODZILLA by Phantom City Creative (Regular Edition of 275; $45 / Variant Edition of 100; $70)

“Princess Mononoke” by Olly Moss (SDCC Exclusive)
Mondo kicks off the official opening day of the San Diego Comic Con 2012 with the great “Princess Mononoke” by Olly Moss. It is a 20″ x 36″ Screenprint available in a regular and variant editions. As an SDCC exclusive, it sold out with the quickness. Crowds at the Mondo Booth (#437) were pretty dense today as Mondo continues to blaze new trails and push new boundaries in the movie poster world.
“The Dark Knight Rises” by Jock (SDCC Exclusive)
Mondo will be debuting “The Dark Knight Rises” by Jock tomorrow (7/12) at the San Diego Comic Con. It is a 24″ x 36″ Screenprint, limited edition of 375, and cost $45. Mondo is at Booth #437 so keep an eye on their Twitter-feed for the on-sale announcement.

In addition, there will be a variant with an edition of 350, that features the villains from the whole trilogy. That will NOT be for sale – Warner Bros will be handing that out for fan appreciation. You can score this poster by attending the Dark Knight Rises Hometown Screening Giveaway Event here at Comic-Con. In anticipation of the July 20th release of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. Pictures is announcing a special giveaway event at San Diego Comic-Con. 250 of the poster seen below by Jock will be given away as part of the prizing at that special event. “The War of the Worlds” & “The Time Machine” by Kevin Tong (SDCC Exclusive)
Kevin Tong just announced his new prints for H.G. Wells’ books: “The War of the Worlds” and “The Time Machine”. These prints will be debuted at his booth (504) at the San Diego Comic Con starting Thursday, July 12th (Or the day before if you come on preview night). They look great! See pics below for details. Any remaining prints and sets will be available for sale on his website soon after Comic Con International is over.

‘Game of Thrones’ posters from Mondo (SDCC Exclusive)
Mondo today revealed they will be will releasing a series of Game of Thrones posters from Martin Ansin, Vania Zouravliov and Daniel Danger at the San Diego Comic Con. They will be made available gradually throughout the week so just be there for the entire event okay? 🙂 Mondo will be at Booth #437.

Wood print by Junko Mizuno (SDCC Exclusive)
Junko Mizuno will have a wood print at the San Diego Comic Con exclusive hosted by Hi-Fructose. It is a 5-color silk screen on 1/2″ birch wood panels, limited edition of 50. It will be released on Friday, July 13th at 3pm at Booth #4939.

“You Are My Lucky Star” by Mark Englert (SDCC Exclusive)
The latest print by Mark Englert is “You Are My Lucky Star” and it’s to be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive hosted by Gallery 1988. Starting on Friday, July 13th at 1pm, Mark will be at Booth #405 signing these prints so if you got tickets to SDCC, don’t miss this!
It is a 12″ x 36″ Screenprint, signed/numbered edition TBD (less than 150) and cost $50.
