Weekend Features: Amazing Japanese Commercial

It’s an Art World

This Japanese commercial shows a wooden ball rolling down a sloped xylophone and playing the song “Jesu, The Joy of Man’s Desiring”, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Quite a feat and though I don’t know for sure how much of this was real, I’d like to think it was. An incredible masterpiece. I can’t imagine the amount of time it took to get it right:


For those of you unfamiliar with the song, here’s a great piano rendition of it. This version was the end credits to the 1997 Japanese animation film, The End of Evangelion, which concluded the popular Japanese series, Neon Genesis Evangelion.
